Crypto transfers are hard to reverse and scammers can hide their identity, so recognizing warning signs is a core part of security.

Sign 1: guaranteed profits

Risky investments can't guarantee high returns. Phrases like "double your money in a week" are reasons to stop and investigate.

Sign 2: pressure to act fast

Messages saying an opportunity vanishes in minutes, or that you must pay a fee right now, aim to stop you from checking facts.

Sign 3: fake support

Never share passwords, authentication codes or your recovery phrase. Legitimate support will not ask for them. Type a platform's official address yourself instead of clicking unexpected links.

How to check an opportunity

  1. Search the company name plus "scam", "fraud" or "warning".
  2. Check the domain letter by letter.
  3. Look for warnings from financial regulators.
  4. Read withdrawal terms, fees and risks.

If you think you were scammed

Stop sending money, keep all messages and receipts, secure your accounts and contact your bank or the platform through official channels. Report it to the authorities. Beware of "recovery services" that ask for an upfront payment: often a second scam.
